Bartlesville Man Charged With Sex Offender Violation

A convicted sex offender living in Bartlesville is facing additional felony charges.
46-year-old Albert Spottedbear was charged on Wednesday with violating the sex offender registration act.
According to the Bartlesville Police Department, Spottedbear appeared before authorities on Feb. 18 to change his residence. Authorities told Spottedbear he was required to check-in every seven days. Spottedbear allegedly failed to check-in with authorities for over two weeks.
Spottedbear allegedly failed to notify authorities that he attempted to seek medical treatment at a facility in Oklahoma City.
Spottedbear was convicted in April 2001 of first degree rape with a victim under 14 years old in Kay County. He was also convicted in June 2014 of lewd molestation in Kay County.
Spottedbear will appear in court again on April 17 at 9 a.m. His bond is set at $50,000.
